The readings on this public website are provided by the Richmond Community Air Monitoring Program, an independent initiative designed to provide air quality readings to the general public and educate the community about what's in the air. The equipment used to collect and analyze the air quality readings and their installations were funded by Chevron in consultation with the City of Richmond. Ongoing operation, maintenance and data reporting is managed by Argos Scientific, Inc. with direction from the City Manager's Office and input from Chevron and community representatives.

This site lists real time-data from air monitoring equipment that is strategically located within the North Richmond, Atchison Village and Point Richmond neighborhoods as well as along the refinery fence lines that border those neighborhoods. All of these sites were selected in a collaborative process, which involved input from the City of Richmond, neighborhood councils and government criteria.

The information contained on this site is designed for education purposes to inform the community about Richmond air quality. Below we answer frequently asked questions about our testing methods and emissions.

It is important to keep in mind that the air monitors are not testing for specific source emissions and may include emission results from multiple sources at any given time.
